  Honest Question..........

  well, first off, iam new to the forum here, i registered maybe a week ago???

  sometime around there, but anyway, i do have an honest question.

  if you have a pc running vista or 7 or xp media center you can watch/record tv through that, there is a free program that scans all your recorded tv shows and automatically strips the adds out when you watch it back.

  just wanted to say...this place has been so good for me...i log on now every day and i find the people here are so kind and caring and funny...i really needed this more than i realised...so thank you all for accepting me on board without any 'conditions' ...its the best...thank you...it helps so much..... loz x.

  Where did England disappear to?

  england is the oldest nation-state in europe.

  it is a pround and historic nation that is often buried under a "british" identity by the uk government.

  within the european unon, scotland and wales are treated as regional entities, yet england is broken up into 6 regions and is not acknowledged as an entity in itself.

  What is your concept of God?

  given that the god of the old testament & the new testament don't seem to match up, and our first impression of god may be based on our parents, and the many progressive christian religions that stress god's love and grace, we probably all have completely different ideas of who god is; if he/she does exist.

  i always thought god was a strict, bad-tempered kill-joy..

  Did you get token invites to witness gatherings?

  i was pretty much a loner the whole time i was in my old congregation, and it wasn't for lack of young people - there were plenty of "young ones", but because of various situations that went unchecked, rumors and just plain nastiness, i did not have any friends.. some of you might relate to this.

  you feel like you don't fit in either camp - the world and the congregation - a rock in a hard place.. on the rare occasion i did get a token invite to a jw gathering, it was usually a video evening, as we called them in the uk.

  since i had no social life to speak of, i would attend these rare and "exciting" events but it was always a let down.. you see, unless you have shared history with these folks, it's pretty much a non event.

  A “video evening” – it is just me , or does that sound so incredibly boring? Count me out.

  yea sounds awful, the JWs near me never did this, was always bars/parties etc. (of course limited fun as so many rules!)

  never have been able to, its just something i can't do.

  some people can't whistle, sing or make lump free gravy... i can't spell.

  i am dislexic and long ago gave up worrying about not being able to spell and instead concentrated on getting the idea accross instead.. i managed to get through collage and uni without being able to spell and now am a sucessfull business woman who misspells her emails to clients ( mind you they mispell their replys).

  I have indeed worked with Dr's who have IQ's of about 600

  wow that must be a record IQ! I think Einstein was around 160 and Newton 190

  thought i would ask again...when i first started on this site,,,i had my smileys etc...i do not know what happened...but they are gone now???

  i am computer stupid,,,to put it bluntly,,,,i have down loaded several sites,,,,but don't know where they are??

  i have pushed all kinds of buttons,,,and have no idea what i have done..... i have smileys on my email page,,,but not here on my google home page??

  you wont have smilies on a google homepage because google determines what goes on there. Each site displays whatever it chooses to display - you cant install things into websites - doesnt work like that
